These are very delicious cookies. You can use hazelnut, or almond instead of walnuts. I also added grated lemon zest because I like the smell of the lemon in my cookies.

1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup walnuts, chopped / ground
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest (optional)

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Mix all the ingredients with your hands.
  • Form walnut size balls and place them on a non-greased pan.
  • Bake 30 minutes.
  • As soon as cookies come out of the oven roll in powdered sugar, and cool completely before storing – if there is any left to store!
