Green Peas (Bezelye)

One of my favorite Turkish dishes. It is fun to eat the small peas, carrots, and potatoes. Serve with rice or bulgur pilaf.
150 gr lamb cubes
500 gr peas
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 potatoes, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 tomatoes, diced
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Salt
Pepper
- Cook the lamb cubes with its own juice, add onion.
- After the meat cooks, add rest of the ingredients with water. Water should barely cover the ingredients. Don’t add too much water, it is not soup!
- Cover the lid and cook for 35 minutes until the beans become soft (but not too much) over medium heat. If necessary add more hot water.
